Does the Thule Chariot series of multisport bike trailers fit our Lekker Bikes?
Yes they do, but only on our Amsterdam GT & Jordaan GT. The bike trailers do not fit our Amsterdam+ and Jordaan+ models. This is by design and works in favour with the powerful high-torque Bafang M420 Mid-Motor; with it’s 80Nm of torque it is up to the task of hauling around your Mini Me’s, pooches and other everyday fun stuff. The maximum combined tow rating is 45kg (trailer & payload). You will need to purchase the additional Thule Internal Hub Hitch Adapter SRAM, M10x1.0 (Thule Part #20100798) for it to be secured onto the Enviolo Axle on both of the Amsterdam GT & Jordaan GT. The Thule Internal Hub Hitch Adapter replaces the rear left-hand axle nut to allow the Thule EzHitch Cup to be fitted. Please ensure you follow all the installation instructions correctly that are included with the Thule Chariot. We suggest consulting your local bike professional if you require assistance in fitting the trailer.

How often do I need to service my Lekker Bicycle?

Although we have designed and built your Lekker Bike to stand the test of time, it does need some regular love and care. We advise you to give your bike some proper attention every 2-3 months and bring it to a professional bike mechanic once every year. It will significantly improve your comfort, safety and your bikes’ health.

Where can I service my Lekker Bike?

You can service your Lekker bike at any bike store or dealer. We use components which are easy to replace and source, and ones that all better bike dealers have access to. We’re also happy to get you up to speed on servicing your own bike – simply contact us for assistance via phone, mail or chat – or let us refer you to a bike service shop.

Where can I find the serial number of my bike?

Each Lekker Bicycle features a unique serial number that identifies the make and the model of the bike. You’ll find the serial number just underneath the bottom bracket of the bike where the crank arms meet the frame.

For the GT ebike you can find the serial number behind the front sprocket.

We’ll ship your Lekker Bicycle right to your front door – quick, easy and insured. From our Dutch platform, we cover shipments to the following countries in Europe:

What delivery options do you offer?

All our eBikes are shipped pre-assembled, 98% ready to ride. This means that your bike is already assembled at our assembly facility in Europe. All our eBikes are tested and carefully packed. At arrival, you simply fit the pedals, adjust the handlebar and saddle. If your bicycle comes with a front carrier rack or additional accessories these will need to be installed at delivery. But we’re always available to assist.

The remaining of our conventional bikes and kids bikes arrive 85% assembled. This requires a bit more assembly work. Find our manuals at the Assembly menu.

Can I track my order online?

You can track your order online. Once you have completed your order and it was dispatched, you will receive a track and trace via mail from our carrier for the online tracking of you order from Lekker Bikes. How difficult is it to assemble the bike myself?

It’s not that difficult, we promise. You’ll need to assemble the front wheel, pedals, handlebar and seat yourself, you’ll also have to check the brakes and gear system. Check out our assembly video. Click here to go to our assembly video.

In what condition will my bike be delivered?

Easy, simple and only available throughout Europe. Your order will be carefully built and prepared for shipment at our Lekker Bikes HQ in Amsterdam. It will take up to 5-8 business days to have your bike shipped and delivered. It’s been thoroughly checked and serviced already by us.

How much assembly is required?

All our eBikes are shipped pre-assembled, 98% ready to ride. This means that your bike is already assembled at our assembly facility in Europe. All our eBikes are tested and carefully packed. At arrival, you simply fit the pedals, adjust the handlebar and saddle. If your bicycle comes with a front carrier rack or additional accessories these will need to be installed at delivery. But we’re always available to assist.

How does your 14-day return work?

We offer a 14 day / 100 km return-free policy. No questions asked! You have a good two weeks or 100 km, whichever comes first, to try your bicycle and if you’re not happy please let us know. Simply send us an email at info.eu@lekkerbikes.com. We strongly advise you to keep the box in case you have doubts, as this will simplify the return shipment massively, and saves some double packaging. You’ll receive a prepaid return label and you can schedule a pick-up at a time that suits you.

No costs will be charged if you decide to return the bike within the 14 day / 100 km return-free period. Please make sure to keep the original packing so it’s easy to organise the return of the bike. A shipping label will be sent by our customer care team and the pick-up will be organised directly with our logistic partner. When you do need a new box, we will charge € 48,00 for a new box including the shipment of the box. You’ll receive a prepaid returns label and you can schedule a pick-up at a time that works for you.

Refunds take approximately 14 business days after we have received your return shipment.

What sort of warranty covers my Lekker Bicycle?

We offer a 2-year warranty on our Lekker frames. Additionally, we supply you with 2 years warranty on the components of our different models starting on the day of purchase. This guarantee is only for replaceable components. Unfortunately, our warranty is not transferable and can only be used by the original buyer of a Lekker product. If you want to use the warranty, please ensure you have your receipt and go to the original shop in which you made your purchase.

There are cases where our warranty isn’t valid. It doesn’t cover wear and tear, incorrect assembly or maintenance. There’s no warranty in the case of; damage caused by accidents, improper use or negligence. Our warranty is also void if changes are made to the original design of the Lekker bike.

What can I do if something happens with my bike after my warranty has expired?

At this moment, we don’t offer customisation of our bikes. You can always spice up your new Lekker Bike with our premium selection of accessories available through our webshop. If you want to change the colour of your saddle, or any other small changes, always inquire with us. We are always happy to see if we can fulfil your vision for the perfect bike.

Is the whole collection available in your stores?

Depending on your location, our models and sizes are available for you to try at one of our brand stores. We offer all of our eBikes in Europe, all of our conventional bikes in the United States, and all LEKKER Bikes (electric and conventional) in Australia. Can my Lekker Bike be delivered to one of your stores?

Feel like picking up your bike 100% assembled and ready to go? We’ll make it happen. Just come pick-up your bike at one of our brand stores and your good to go! Built by certified mechanics, you’ll also receive a free first service check up. If you choose to have your bike delivered to one of our stores, there won’t be any additional charges. As soon as your bike’s ready to be picked up, we’ll let you know via text or phone call. We’ll help you adjust the seat and handlebar.

Regular service and maintenance

Although we have designed and built your Lekker Bike to stand the test of time, it does need some love and care from time to time. Be sure to follow the steps mentioned below to keep your bike in tip-top condition. We advise you to give your bike some regular care every 2-3 months and bring it to a professional bike mechanic once a year. It will significantly improve your comfort, safety and your bikes’ health.

Pump it

Tyres can soften in as little as a week. Regular pumping of the tyres will ensure your tyres last as long as possible and that you keep cruising around with speed. Tyres that are soft are more froan to punctures and the rims get dents quicker if you hit potholes. Regular pumping is crucial.

Lube like a champ

Lubrication of the chain is vital and will prolong your gearing systems life expectancy. Be sure not to over lubricate as this will attract grit and dust. Apply a small amount of oil to moving parts and use a rag to dry off excess oil. You can tell a chain needs lube when you hear squeaking and the chain links have a shiny metal look going on. Please note that for the Belt Drive models the chain does not need oil, it was built with zero-maintenance technology.

Time to clean

It’s essential you rid your bicycle of mud and dirt. Rain will get dirt and grit into the brake pads and other parts of the bike. Be sure to clean and dry your bicycle after these conditions to ensure your components last longer and stay happy.

What accessories are standard included on a Lekker Bike?

All our Dutch style bikes come with the essentials; the Sportief includes premium LED front + rear lights and an aluminium front carrier rack. Our Amsterdam M2 series is made to be extremely lightweight, so we leave it up to you to add what you need from our selection of premium accessories available through our webshop.

Each product page mentions the assessors that are included in the standard version and you can purchase additional accessories on our accessory page or in the configuration menu on the top left of each bike’s product page to adjust the bike to your needs.

Do I need to buy lights for my bike?

All our Dutch style bikes (the Jordaan and the Sportief) comes with everything you need; the Sportief includes premium LED front + rear lights. The Jordaan includes premium LED front + rear lights. Our Amsterdam series are made to be more lightweight, so we leave it up to you to choose what you want to add from our selection of premium accessories available through our webshop.

Our eBike range is equipped with premium lights which are connected to the battery of the eBike.

Is it possible to attach a kids seat to all Lekker Bikes?

You can add a kid’s seat on all our Lekker bicycles. With that being said, the Jordaan and the Jordaan+ series are most suitable for attaching kids’ seats because of their longer wheelbase, which creates more space for a front and/or a rear kids’ seat. It’s the stereotypical Dutch transportation bike designed for getting the whole family around town. The Sportief also offers you the option to fit both a front and rear kids seat. The Amsterdam series offers the option to fit a rear kids seat. With some bikes the seats need a specific adaptor or can only be used with a regular handlebar stem and not an adjustable stem. You can contact us for advice or check with the company you purchase the kids seat from to get advice, as they are specialised in this type of product.

Which body measurements are needed to choose the size of my Lekker bicycle?

Our bicycles are designed with simplicity in mind and fit a wide range of riders. As long as you are no shorter than 150cm and no taller than 210 cm, we will have a LEKKER Bicycle perfect for you. We even offer some of our bikes in two sizes for the less experienced cyclists. You can find the sizes of each bike on its product page. Just scroll down to the drop down menu and check the category ‘sizes’ for exact measurements. Seems like the right size but you’re not sure if the top tube is too high? Check the stand-over-height under ‘sizes’ and measure if you could stand over the top tube comfortably.

I’m kinda’ short, which bike fits me best?

Women
For women’s bikes, our most accessible option is our 46 cm frame size.

But just so you know; a style we see in the Netherlands is that female riders also go for the Amsterdam frame size 58 – a diamond-shaped frame size with a horizontal front tube. However, due to the diamond-shaped frame, it makes it a little more difficult to jump onto the Amsterdam bicycle model.

Men
With regards to our men’s bikes, the most accessible bikes are the Amsterdam, Sportief and Jordaan models with frame size 58cm (men) and 46cm (women).

I’m kinda’ tall, which bike fits me best?

Women
For our women’s bikes, the Jordaan is the larger bicycle in our product range. Its wider wheelbase creates more space between the handlebar and the saddle, leaving more space for your upper body. If you’re 175cm or taller you might want to check our some of the men’s models too.

Men
The tallest men’s frame we have in our collection are the ones with a 62 frame size. Please note, you should double check your stand-over height when choosing your frame size. As the difference between the 58cm and the 62cm frame size can be quite significant. The choice between the 58cm and the 62cm frame is based on the length of your upper body and legs and therefore differs for everyone.

Will I receive the same bike as pictured online?

Absolutely! All bikes come as depicted on our website. However, please pay attention to upgrades and accessories that cost extra. Some pictures show bikes with certain upgrades that come with an extra charge.

Lekker Bikes: who we are

Launched early 2009, our Amsterdam based bicycle brand LEKKER has captured the attention of urban cyclist worldwide. We have taken the widely acclaimed Dutch Bicycle Design – that has been part of our Dutch culture since 1885 – and added modern day technology to offer everything a daily commuter needs. This resulted in a striking range of LEKKER Bicycles to inspire the people across the globe to embrace the Dutch bicycle lifestyle.

It was founder Meindert who left Amsterdam for Australia’s Bondi Beach and immediately fell in love with all that Australia has to offer. But, there was just one thing missing: his bicycle.

A commuter bike that he could ride to and from the beach, to Varsity, to the market, to his buddy’s house, and back home. Meindert wanted a Dutch-design bike, but finding this two-wheel companion proved to be difficult, and he ended up buying a bike from one of his Dutch friends.

Enthusiastic responses to his bike from Australians inspired him to bring a quality, stylishly designed and, above all, cool bicycle to Down Under. He wanted to create a bike that would ride and look like a dream. The series of bikes took shape in late 2009. No word could better describe what he had always envisioned the bike to be then: LEKKER.

Where are your bikes made?

We design our Dutch style bicycles in Amsterdam and Melbourne, based on feedback received from commuters all around the world, and hand-built and assembled in Europe. In the design process, we select components from prominent suppliers, sourcing components from across the world. To give you an idea, we equip our bikes with premium headlights from the Netherlands, GATES belt drive components and NuVinci hubs from the US, wicker baskets handmade in Indonesia and Shimano components from Japan. Our lightweight 100% aluminium frames are produced in China.

Combined all these components result in a premium, lightweight yet affordable commuter bicycle. Before the bike is shipped to your door or picked up at one of our brand stores, it’s hand-built and assembled in Europe.

How much do your bikes weigh?

Our bikes weigh anywhere from 9 to 15 kg, depending on model and size of the bike. Our electric bikes weigh 18-23 kg (incl. battery). What makes us different from many other bike brands is that all Lekker models’ frames and front forks are made from 100% rust free lightweight aluminium. Which body measurements are needed to choose the size of my Lekker Bicycle?

You just need to know your body height and additionally you could measure the inner side of your legs to check the suitability of the stand-over-height of the top tube.

Our bicycles are designed with simplicity in mind and fit a wide range of riders. As long as you are no shorter than 150cm and no taller than 210 cm, we will have a LEKKER Bicycle perfect for you. We even offer some of our bikes in two sizes for the less experienced cyclists. If you have any doubts, just contact us so we can help you in making the right decision. Our Story

Launched early 2009, our Amsterdam based bicycle brand LEKKER has captured the attention of urban cyclist worldwide. We have taken the widely acclaimed Dutch Bicycle Design – that has been part of our culture since 1885 – and added modern day technology to offer everything a daily commuter could only ask for. This resulted in a striking range of LEKKER Bicycles to inspire the world to embrace cycling like the Dutch.

It was founder Meindert who left Amsterdam for Australia’s Bondi Beach and immediately fell in love with all that Australia has to offer. But, there was just one thing missing: his bicycle.

A commuter bike that he could ride to and from the beach, to Varsity, to the market, to his buddy’s house, and then home. Meindert wanted a Dutch-design bike, but finding such a two-wheeler proved to be difficult, and he ended up buying a bike from one of his Dutch friends.

Enthusiastic responses to his bike from Australians inspired him to bring a quality, beautiful, stylish and, above all, cool bicycle to Down Under. He wanted to create a bike that would ride and look like a dream. The series of bikes took shape in late 2009. No word could better describe what he had always envisaged the bike to be: LEKKER.

In other words: Born in Amsterdam, Raised in Australia.

    We have been regularly adjusting our production and production planning flexibly to be able to manufacture your dream bike as quickly as possible throughout these unprecedented times.

    The bicycle industry is however facing continued uncertainty in its supply chain. In short, there are too few parts and components available at the moment, our suppliers therefore are not always able to meet their promised deadlines and the limited transport possibilities caused by the Coronavirus pandemic are still restricting the international movement of goods.

    Our top priority is being as reliable & transparent as possible when it comes to delivering your bike to you. We are in close contact with our suppliers in order to be able to react quickly to changes in component availability should this impact delivery times communicated to our customers.
